What a smart home actually is
Strip the marketing away and a smart home does three things: it lets the systems of the house - shades, lights, music, climate, security - act together instead of separately; it lets you control them from one place (a keypad, an app, your voice); and it lets time and sensors do the routine work for you. "Good Morning" is not a gadget; it is your sheers opening, lights warming, and thermostat adjusting because 7 am arrived.
