All-glass rooms can run cold. Woven wood shades - bamboo, reeds, grasses, and jute - bring the one thing minimalist interiors miss: organic texture. Sunlight filters through the weave in a way no synthetic fabric matches, and the material palette belongs on the coast.
Because natural weaves vary, lining is the craft: unlined for a filtered glow, privacy-lined for bedrooms, blackout-lined for full darkness - each sewn in our own workroom and fitted edge to edge. Motorization by Lutron or Somfy works beautifully on woven woods too.

How a woven wood shade is made and lined
Natural weaves - bamboo, reeds, grasses, jute - arrive as material with character: no two lots are identical, and the weave decides whether the shade folds flat and tailored or drapes in a relaxed waterfall. The craft is in the lining. Unlined, the weave glows; privacy-lined, it is opaque enough for a bedroom; blackout-lined, it darkens the room. Every liner is sewn in, not clipped on, in our own workroom, and every shade is fitted edge to edge to the opening.
