Recycled PET yarns, PVC-free, with an unusually long list of fire ratings
Loop is a 2024 introduction made from 100% recycled PET yarns with a recycled polymer coating: PVC-free, lead free, anti-microbial and GREENGUARD certified, light-filtering at under 1% openness, in eight colours (Optical White, White, Oxygen, Cream, Oatmeal, Silver, Steel Grey, Alloy). It is thin (0.012 inches), seamable and railroadable, and carries the longest fire listing on this page: NFPA 701, CAN/ULC-S109, DIN 4102 B1, BS 5867-2B, EN 13501-1 B-s2,d0, BS 7837, EN 13773 and UNI 9177.
Its usable width is 78 inches, the narrowest here, so wide openings are railroaded or split.
What Loop does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Pick Loop by its published transmission, because the eight colourways behave like different fabrics. Steel Grey passes 0% of the visible light and Alloy 1%, which is what a bedroom or a media wall wants from a light-filtering cloth. Optical White at 10% and White at 8% keep an office or a north-facing room bright. Oatmeal at 4% sits between the two ends.
Privacy
Under 1% openness gives full daytime cover right across the card. After dark the pale end is where people get caught out: Optical White at 10% transmission shows shapes crossing a lit room to anyone on the street, while Steel Grey gives away almost nothing. Neither is a blackout. A bedroom wants a blackout behind the Loop, or an owner who has stood outside and looked at their own lit window.
Glare control
A 10% transmission at the Optical White end still leaves enough light on a monitor to be a nuisance on west glass. Alloy at 1% and Steel Grey at 0% flatten the room instead, which is the setting a desk or a television needs. The trade is heat at the glass: Optical White reflects 75% of the solar energy, Steel Grey only 16%.
Limitations
The 78-inch width is the thing to plan around. It railroads, so a wide opening can be turned rather than seamed, but the turn then caps the finished drop at 78 inches, which rules out a tall tower window; Vista runs wider. Lutron publishes an NRC of 0, so it does nothing for sound. Steel Grey absorbs 84% of the solar energy it meets, and that heat sits at the glass.
