A fine striated texture in six pale neutrals
Stria is a stiffened Atelier weave (80% polyester, 20% stiffening agents) with a fine vertical striation, light-filtering at under 3% openness, 108 inches wide, PVC-free. It comes in six pale colours only (Snow, Bone, Oyster, Mist, Cool Grey, Shark), which tells you what it is for: bright, quiet rooms.
Stria Blackout carries the same six colours over an acrylic backing with the same stiffened construction, so the blackout hangs as flat as the light-filtering. Both are seamable, not railroadable.
What Stria does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Read the card before the room. Every colour here sits between Snow and Shark, so put the light-filtering face where the sun is not the problem: north and east glass, a shaded courtyard window, an interior-facing condo window on a light well. At under 3% openness it passes daylight and stops the view. Stria Blackout is what handles a bedroom on the same wall.
Privacy
Pale cloth, so be careful with expectations. By day, under 3% openness stops the view in any of the six colours. At night the same pale face is the one that gives most away, because a lit room silhouettes more clearly through Snow or Bone than through a dark weave, and anyone on the street sees it. Stria Blackout is the only version of this fabric that is private after dark.
Glare control
This is where the pale card costs you. A light-filtering panel lit from behind becomes the brightest surface in the room, and there is no dark colour here to hold that down, since Shark is the darkest of the six and it is still a grey. For a media room, a home office or any wall a television faces, choose a dark cloth such as Roseau in Jet, or go to the blackout.
Limitations
The stiffened build that keeps it flat also makes the blackout the thickest cloth in this family at 0.03 inches, so a tall shade rolls fat and a shallow pocket may not take it. Lutron lists no spot cleaning for either version, only dusting, vacuuming and a damp cloth. Both stop at 108 inches, neither offers a view, and no fire rating is published.

A living room or primary bedroom in a white-and-pale-oak Miami interior is Stria's natural home. Like Matrice it rolls perfectly straight, which we like on exposed Palladiom rollers, and its striation catches the low sun in a way a flat fabric does not.

Same stiffened base and the same flat hang. Matrice is plain and comes in nine colours including darks; Stria has a fine linear texture and six pale colours. We usually bring both cards.
How wide can a Lutron Stria shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 108 inches for Stria. It can be seamed for wider openings, or two shades share one headrail and move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
