Lutron Hue Fabric
8 colourways, blackout, up to 100 inches wide. Every swatch and every specification, from a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
Blackout in real colours: navy, red, brown, tan and more
Hue is the colour card of the blackout range: eight colours including Navy, Red, Brown, Tan, Grey and Black alongside White and Ivory, in a 33% polyester face with a 67% acrylic back coating and a white back. It is 100 inches wide (96 on a battery-powered Essentials shade), PVC-free, seamable and railroadable.
A 69% solar reflectance and a full 0% light transmission in every colour, including the dark ones.
What Hue does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Hue is chosen for the colour and nothing else, so use it where the shade is meant to be seen. Black in a media room reads as part of a dark wall. Navy or Red is the accent in a child's room. If the shade should disappear into the reveal instead, a neutral blackout does that better. Width stops at 100 inches, or 96 on a battery-powered Essentials shade.
Privacy
All eight colourways publish 0% transmission, White included, so the colour makes no difference to what anyone can see. That is the most common misunderstanding about a coloured blackout. The back is white or off-white in every one, so a Black bedroom shade still reads white from the street. And the two strips of light at the jambs of a roller stay there whatever the face colour is.
Glare control
Down, it takes the daylight out entirely, which is the point in a home theater, where a dark face around the screen does not bounce projector light back into the room the way a white one does. The back is still reflecting 69% of the solar energy at the glass, so the coloured face is not sitting in the full heat of the sun.
Limitations
Cleaning is dusting and vacuuming, with no spot cleaning or damp cloth listed, which is worth knowing before a Red shade goes into a playroom. No fire rating is published, so hotels and schools look elsewhere. At 100 inches it is narrower than most blackouts here, though it does railroad. It gives no view and no daylight at any setting except fully up.

Where Hue works here
Children's rooms and media rooms are where Hue gets specified: a Navy blackout in a boy's room in Weston, a Red accent shade in a playroom, Black in a home theater. It is also the blackout we use when a client wants the shade to match a painted wall rather than the trim.
Hue: frequently asked
Does a dark blackout make the room hotter?
Marginally, and only with the shade down in direct sun; the white back reflects most of the energy before it reaches the coloured face. In a bedroom that is dark at night and open by day it is not a concern.
How wide can a Lutron Hue shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 100 inches for Hue. It is railroadable, so a wider opening can be covered in one piece by turning the fabric. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which Lutron shades use Hue?
Hue is made up on Lutron roller shades. As a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach we order it for any Lutron system it is offered on and install it with our own team.
Is Hue PVC-free?
Yes. Lutron lists every Hue colourway as PVC-free, with RoHS Compliant certifications.
Can I see Hue samples before ordering?
Yes. Lutron makes memo samples of every Hue colourway on this page; tell us which colours you are considering and we order them from Lutron for your consultation. Both our Fort Lauderdale workroom (by appointment) and our Miami Beach showroom have Lutron shades running so you can see the fabrics in motion.
