Lutron Oslo Fabric
5 colourways, openness <1%, light-filtering, up to 96 inches wide. Every swatch and every specification, from a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
A textured architectural honeycomb in five warm neutrals
Oslo is the third Architectural Honeycomb fabric: a 100% polyester single-cell light-filtering honeycomb in five colours (Porcelain, Dove, Camel, Hazelnut, Charcoal), 96 inches wide, PVC-free, with a published R-value of 2.8. It has a more textured face than Kyoto or Madrid and sits higher on Lutron's price scale.
There is no blackout version of Oslo; pair it with Madrid Blackout in a matching neutral where darkness is needed.
What Oslo does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Oslo is the pick when the honeycomb sits in a room people look at rather than a room they sleep in: a dining room, a den, a stair window in a warm neutral scheme. Camel and Hazelnut carry the texture against wood; Porcelain and Dove settle into white trim. The family is light-filtering only, so specify it for the daytime windows and let another fabric handle the sleeping ones.
Privacy
The cell blocks the view in daylight in all five colourways, Porcelain included. At night the answer inverts, because the room is lit and the cloth is not, and a shape crossing that room is readable from the street through the pale end of the card. Charcoal gives away the least. None of the five darkens a room, so a bedroom on that elevation needs a second treatment.
Glare control
No transmission values are published for Oslo, and the textured face does not change the physics: the direct beam breaks up and the light in the room goes even. The panel itself then carries the brightness, which Porcelain shows most and Charcoal least. On the heat side the published figure is R 2.8, so if the afternoon sun is the whole reason for buying a honeycomb, this is not the strongest cell on offer.
Limitations
There is no room-darkening or blackout weave in the Oslo family and no double-cell either, so what the light-filtering cell does is all it does. Vacuuming is the only cleaning method listed, and a raised face is the kind that shows dust in low afternoon light. Width stops at 96 inches. For a darker cell in a similar neutral, look across the honeycomb range.

Where Oslo works here
Oslo suits the warm-neutral interiors of Boca and Palm Beach where a honeycomb has to look like a fabric rather than a technical product: Camel and Hazelnut against wood, Porcelain in a white room. On a Triathlon battery system it is the easy retrofit for a condo with no wiring.
Oslo: frequently asked
Why is Oslo's R-value lower than Kyoto's?
Different weave and cell construction; Lutron publishes R 2.8 for Oslo against 3.8 for Kyoto and Madrid light-filtering. Oslo is chosen for its texture; if insulation is the priority, Madrid or Kyoto is the better pick.
How wide can a Lutron Oslo shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 96 inches for Oslo. Wider openings are covered with two shades on one headrail, programmed to move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
