A tight 1% and 3% screen with white or black backs, in five colours
Blakeley is a 78% PVC, 22% polyester solar screen at 1% and 3% openness, 116 inches wide, in five colourways (White/White, White/Linen, White/Sand, White/Bronze, Black/Black) with a white or black back. It is seamable, not railroadable, listed to NFPA 701, certified GREENGUARD, Oeko-Tex, lead free and RoHS, and rated for moist conditions. Lutron places most of the card at its second price tier, with the White/White colourways a step higher.
The 1% weave puts Blakeley in glare-control territory, and Black/Black with a black back is the darkest, clearest-view combination in the vinyl range.
What Blakeley does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
A humid room with a real sun problem: a pool bath, a laundry with a west window, a lanai door. Lutron rates the cloth for moist conditions and the 1% weave is tight enough to be worth putting there. Use 3% on the shaded elevations so the two read as one fabric through the house. There is no tensioned version, so sloped glass goes to another card.
Privacy
Nothing is published for transmission here, so treat it by weave and colour. At 1% the White colourways give plenty of daytime cover and a soft, pale view out; Black/Black at the same openness sees out more sharply and hides less from a facing balcony. The back colour changes what the street sees, not what it can see. Lamps on after dark and the room reads from outside.
Glare control
The 1% weave is the reason to specify Blakeley. At that tightness a monitor or a television stays usable with sun on the glass, and the dark faces scatter the least light back into the room. At 3% expect a little light on a screen through the afternoon. With no published figures to lean on, we put a sample on the glass before a media wall depends on it.
Limitations
Blakeley stops at 3%, so a north room chasing maximum daylight belongs on another card. Lutron lists no samples for it, which makes the colour a harder call than usual, and the fire rating is NFPA 701 alone, without the Title 19 and CAN/ULC listings a condo specification often asks for. It darkens nothing and covers nothing once the lights are on.

Where Blakeley works here
Blakeley 1% in Black/Black is a fabric for a west-facing home office or a media room with a window, where the view still matters but the screen has to do most of the work; the White/Bronze and White/Sand weaves are quieter choices for bedrooms on the sunny side of a Palm Beach house.
Blakeley: frequently asked
Which Blakeley colourway gives the clearest view?
Black/Black at 1%: a dark weave with a dark back scatters the least light, so the view reads sharpest even at the tightest openness. The White colourways reflect more heat and brighten the room instead.
How wide can a Lutron Blakeley shade be?
Lutron publishes a maximum usable fabric width of 116 inches for Blakeley. It can be seamed for wider openings, or two shades share one headrail and move together. We confirm the exact limit for the chosen system when we measure.
Which Lutron shades use Blakeley?
Blakeley is made up on Lutron roller shades. As a certified Lutron dealer in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach we order it for any Lutron system it is offered on and install it with our own team.
